Halau headlines Imiloa After Dark program

Imiloa After Dark features a dynamic hula performance by Unukupukupu at 7 p.m. Friday at Imiloa Astronomy Center in Hilo.

The Hawaii Community College hula group aims to bring awareness of the role of hula as a sacred dance into a modern global context. Tickets are $15 for nonmembers and $12 for members and may be purchased at the Imiloa front desk or by calling 969-9703. For more information, visit imiloahawaii.org.

Girls Night Out scheduled Friday

North Hawaii Community Hospital invites women of all ages to the 13th annual Girls Night Out Friday at Kanu o ka Aina New Century Public Charter School in Waimea.

This fun and educational trade show presents local resources and businesses, including massage, hair styling, makeup and acupuncture. Several booths will offer items for sale. Women will also be treated to free dinner, breast cancer bingo, a silent auction and door prizes. A variety of women’s health and wellness information will be provided. This theme of this year’s event is “Get Your Pink On.”

Waimea flea market supports gym improvement

A flea market including antiques and collectibles is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Hope Waimea Gym on Church Row in Waimea.

Proceeds from vendor fees benefit the gymnasium improvement fund.
